Making the U. S. Ski Team. Teams are nominated each spring or summer based on results. Teams for FIS World Championships (held every odd year) and Olympic Winter Games (held every four years) are selected by specific criteria and named for those individual events. The A level supports 13 to 18 year olds and all veteran skiers, 18 year olds. The ECS qualifies skiers for national level events: Juniors Olympics, Junior Worlds, US Freestyle Championships and the US Selection Events.
